In response to former Tottenham Hotspur hero Rafael van der Vaart posting footage of his past White Hart Lane exploits on Twitter, plenty of Spurs supporters have flocked to praise the fan favourite ex-midfielder – claiming he was ‘superb‘ and ‘left us too early‘.
Did van der Vaart leave too early?
Absolutely, no debate
No, he left at the right time
Van der Vaart, who put pen to paper on a deal with the Lilywhites from Real Madrid back in 2010, went on to play 77 games for us in all competitions whilst netting 28 goals and assisting 18 others according to Transfermarkt.
The Dutch playmaker then departed north London after a memorable stay, leaving for German outfit Hamburg following just two years at Tottenham.
Now, to memorialise our old ground, van der Vaart has posted footage of his past Spurs exploits there on Twitter – resulting in plenty of supporters flocking to his upload in response and claiming he left us too soon.

Rafa, you said you made one mistake, you left Spurs too early.I agree.
You left when AVB came, maybe he was not the right fit for you…
But how do you think you would play in a Poch Spurs and Mourinho Spurs?
I understand why you love Harry, he lets you play, holistic approach
