Spurs emerge as “serious” favourites to sign ex-Pochettino target – Report

|

According to an exclusive report from the Daily Mirror, Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser has set his sights on a free transfer to Spurs in the summer and will become a free agent on June 30 – with the Lilywhites now emerging as ‘serious‘ favourites to land his signature.

Fraser, who has started 21 games for the Cherries this campaign, was also being monitored by ex-Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino last summer when the Argentine was looking for a potential Christian Eriksen alternative according to the Daily Star.

Would you like Spurs to sign Fraser?

Yes, absolute no brainer

No, he is average

Now, with the Scotsman’s current contract expiring next month, Spurs have re-emerged as favourites to land the attacker and are ready to ‘step in‘ with an offer as current boss Jose Mourinho begins preparation for his first full season in charge of the club knowing summer funds will be ‘very limited‘.

The impact of a recent global pandemic has apparently forced chairman Daniel Levy to only consider free agents as potential signings, and Fraser appears to be at the top of that list as we look to poach his services.

According to WhoScored, the 26-year-old has averaged more key passes in the Premier League this campaign than any Spurs player, as well as registering four assists – with only star man Son Heung-Min setting up more goals so far domestically.

These impressive numbers could pinpoint why we view Fraser as a prime target as the summer transfer window looms, especially if he could be available on a free transfer.

Whether or not we do decide to swoop for the player remains to be seen, but judging by his form this season, the move could be a bargain coup.
