“Vital” This Man Stays At Spurs According To Teammate

|

Tottenham Hotspur fullback Danny Rose has covered a few topics in the media this week as our preparations for West Ham United this weekend, and then Ajax in the Champions League Semi-Final first leg next midweek continue.

With manager Mauricio Pochettino saying earlier this week that he remained hopeful that an agreement would be struck with Christian Eriksen to see him stay with us given his current deal expires in 2020, Rose was asked for his thoughts, and few will be surprised with his response.

“It’s obviously vital. If you look over the five years that the manager’s been here, Christian has played the most games and that says a lot. When Christian doesn’t play, there are questions that we don’t look the same. He links everything up for us. The lads in the changing room trust the people upstairs to hopefully get him to sign.”

Although Eriksen can split the fanbase at points when he’s not completely on song, few can really disagree with how important to the side he is and we saw that again on Tuesday evening as he was our main threat in the game and ultimately won us the points. There’s nothing remarkable in Rose’s words and we just have to hope his confidence in the ‘people upstairs’ is well placed.
