Transfer News: Despite loan rumours, Tottenham could be set to force starlet into permanent exit

|

Tottenham fans have enjoyed watching the young full-back Kyle Walker-Peters when he’s featured for them, albeit if those appearances are few and far between. The young right-back is a talented attacking full-back, yet both Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho have had their doubts.

Little has been spoken about in the media with the defender, but the key factor is that Walker-Peters just hasn’t played enough football, and at the age of 22-years-old the defender has been robbed of senior footballing minutes throughout some key years of his career.

However, that could now be set to change. Whilst some of Walker-Peters’ formative years have been spent on the bench, the Tottenham man could be set to make a move to another top-flight English club in the form of the linked destinations Southampton and Crystal Palace.

However, as the initial talks and rumours were all surrounding a loan move for the young right-back, the latest news that has come from Football Insider claims that Tottenham have put a £15m price tag on the head of Walker-Peters and are now only looking at a permanent move.

The article claims:

‘Discussions are ongoing with Palace and Southampton, although it remains to be seen if either club would pay the fee Spurs are seeking.’

The former England Under-21 international accepts his time at his boyhood club is coming to an end after failing to establish himself under Mourinho.’

Should Kyle Walker-Peters leave?

Yes

No

‘The defender began this season in the team under ex-manager Mauricio Pochettino and started the first three Premier League matches at right-back.’

‘But his subsequent two games have come in the League Cup and a Champions League dead rubbers.’
