With England taking a shock 3-2 victory over the Spanish in their own backyard on Monday evening as we took to the pitch in Nations League action, a number of Tottenham Hotspur players came in for praise from fans for their own individual showings on the night.
Harry Kane’s brace, Kieran Trippier’s efforts in defence, Eric Dier setting the tone with his tackle on Sergio Ramos – they all played their part in our first victory over the side in 31 years – but Academy graduate Harry Winks stole the show for many.
With the 22-year-old struggling with an ankle injury last season, that he now manages whenever he’s called upon, fans have been largely pleased with his efforts in 2018/19 and a number continue to expect big things from him given the performances we’ve already seen that he’s capable of.
The showing against Spain will not hamper those calls.
A special player. Moulded by a master coach, with more coming off the spurs production line. Good times for England and Spurs!

He’s really special. Barkley shone brightest that half but he’ll be in that team for the next 10 years, bar awful injuries

He's gonna be world class.

He was mint last night, made Busquets look like Sam Allerdyce on a night out.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Winks again showing he has the ability to perform against some of the best players in the world.
Some to seem to conveniently forget how he bossed Real Madrid over two games last season and played well in that second half against Barcelona.#THFC #COYS pic.twitter.com/uS1PY23Ixx

Anyone that doesn't rate him literally knows nothing about the modern game, if Henderson had played instead tonight we wouldn't have won that game, pretty simple really….

England’s future ticking machine. Only Spurs fans currently know how good @HarryWinks is. That will change in a season or so. The. Everyone will be on the Winks bandwagon

With Dier doesn’t the defensive job in midfield, Winks’ attempts to start the offensive job from the middle of the park alongside Ross Barkley were certainly well received by the above fans and long may it continue.
