Tottenham table ‘official’ offer for €25m striker as Kane alternative – Report

|

According to a report from Turkish outlet Fanatik, Tottenham have apparently tabled an ‘official‘ €25 million offer for Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi as manager Jose Mourinho scours the market for potential Harry Kane alternatives.

Muriqi, who has bagged 13 goals and assisted four others in 24 starts for Fenerbache this season, could be seen as viable back-up for Spurs hitman Kane who has recently been hit with a hamstring injury.

The Kosovo international has been linked with a move to us ever since the January transfer window, around the time Kane picked up his knock, with fellow Turkish outlet Aksam reporting that we bid £20 million before turning our attention to Paris-Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

However, as per Fanatik, Spurs seemingly aren’t the only club interested in enticing Muriqi with a move away from Turkey – with Italian club Lazio also in the hunt for his signature.

As things stand, we may need to fend off the Serie A side if we are serious about landing Muriqi as a striking alternative to Kane.

Compared to the Englishman, as per WhoScored, Muriqi’s stats actually eclipse that of our England man – with the forward averaging 3.6 shots per game and 1.5 key passes over Kane’s 2.8 efforts and 1 key pass so far in the Premier League.

Should we swoop for Muriqi?

Yes

No

Even though you could argue it is questionable that Muriqi would be able to replicate these same numbers in a far more competitive division, it doesn’t exactly hurt to average such impressive figures when trying to attract a potential dream move.

Valued at just €25 million (£22 million), you could suggest that Spurs have little to lose when contemplating a swoop for the Kosovan – especially factoring in his age (25).

My vote would be Dybala but staying realistic bcs of big money spending Levy
I would say yes definitely worth buying as long as we still bring in the likes off free agent Giroud

We badly need a prem proven striker, I like Muriqi but we can’t afford for him to be the only forward bcs of the time he might need to settle
