Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho may have to sell a few players this summer if he’s going to bolster his squad and one name that appears to be on the chopping block is right-back Serge Aurier – if latest reports are to be believed.
According to Sky Sports, Ligue 1 outfit Monaco hold interest in signing the 27-year-old after they appointed former Spurs man Paul Mitchell as their new sporting director.
Should Spurs sell Serge Aurier this summer?
Yes, get rid ASAP!
Only if replacement
No way, a mistake!
The Ivory Coast international is probably one of the most divisive members of the current squad. His performances on the pitch are inconsistent whilst off it, he’s been causing trouble.
During the lockdown, he was cautioned by the club for a third time after he was found to be breaking government guidelines.
Aurier has been Mourinho’s first-choice this season, featuring in 35 matches where he has provided two goals and seven assists, via WhoScored, and has also averaged 2.7 tackles, 2.3 clearances and 1.3 fouls per game.
The £14.4m-rated defender still has two years to run on his contract and supporters are quite torn over the news.
Some have slammed the suggestion of selling him, claiming he’s better than reported target Max Aarons whilst others would “drive him” there themselves just to get him away from north London.
Here’s more of the reaction from the Spurs faithful…
Jose's most inproved player.

We can surely upgrade on him. Too accident prone to be a top player
