Both us and Borussia Monchengladbach have confirmed the news that winger Keanan Bennetts will be leaving the club in the summer to move to Germany.
The 19-year-old will be moving to the Bundesliga after both clubs “reached agreement” on the player’s transfer.
Fans on Twitter were not too pleased with the news:
Really big shame looks like he’s going to be good

So we get rid of him to keep Moussa Sissoko WTF
— @Abigail_Temple (@AbigailTemple) 18 May 2018
I expected him to be involved in the 1st team next season ????

Glad to see all the investing in youth & Hotspur Way is going well ????
No wonder these kids leave for first team football chances elsewhere when they see Sissoko, Lamela & Llorente getting picked ahead of them.

If you idiots let Reo Griffiths go it’s going to kick off Big Time

Good luck in Germany Keanan!

decent player that we never really gave a chance to

Absolutely Shocking how Poch kept Llorente & Sissoko on our bench instead of giving kids like Reo & Bennetts a chance.
Does Poch even look at our youth players anymore?
I don’t think so

Gutted with that tbf would of loved to see him given a chance!

Verdict:
It is a shame to see Keanan go. He is lightning quick on the left wing and had been playing very well in Premier League 2, as well as the UEFA Youth League.
A lot of players seem to be moving to Germany to get their chance at first-team football. Hopefully, the teenager’s departure doesn’t start a trend from our academy setup.
While it’s great to hear the likes of Walker-Peters and Carter-Vickers have signed new deals, there is still uncertainty over others like Under 18 star Reo Griffiths, who could also potentially make the move to Germany as well.
