‘That is a special goal’ – Fans react as midfielder ends goal drought

|

Tottenham made it three wins out of three in all competitions under Jose Mourinho on Saturday as they beat Bournemouth 3-2 to climb up to 5th in the Premier League.

Two goals from Dele Alli either side of half time and a third from Moussa Sissoko on 69 minutes helped Spurs to secure the three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Alli earned the man of the match award for his display, but Sissoko’s first goal in over two years was vitally important for Spurs after Bournemouth played back into the game and scored two late goals.

Sissoko has made 69 appearances for Spurs without scoring, he last scored against Huddersfield in September 2017 and his goal on Saturday delighted, and even surprised some Spurs fans.

Although Sissoko’s goal was enjoyed by some, others thought the French midfielder would miss the chance with these fans claiming he almost missed his shot.

Although he’s not a player you would normally associate with scoring goals, Sissoko’s second-half volley was vital for Spurs’ win on Saturday and his goal contributed to an unbeaten start under Mourinho.
