Tottenham fans will have been trying desperately to forget about their Carabao Cup exit to Colchester United from back in September, yet their own club is making it hard to forget about it purely because of their recent tweet, as the Spurs development squad beat the League Two side on penalties.
Our Development Squad have won 6-5 on penalties here at @ColU_Official to earn an additional point after the initial 1-1 draw in our @LeasingcomTrphy tie!
Well done, lads! #COYS

The Lilywhites were one of the laughing stocks of the footballing world when they fell to defeat against Colchester, as it set up an all-League Two 4th round tie in the cup with Colchester now set to take on Crawley, meaning the Lilywhites missed out on an easy route to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
That is, of course, no disrespect to either of the League Two sides, but the Champions League finalists should be able to brush aside the lower league sides with relative ease, and now even the club’s U21s have done what the seniors couldn’t, beating them in the EFL Trophy last night.

The supporters have been very vocal on this, with plenty calling for the U21 side to replace the seniors given their better performance against Colchester.
