Spurs tipped to sign “fantastic” £100k-p/w attacker who Mourinho adores – Report

|

Speaking on ESPN via the Daily Star, pundit Craig Burley has tipped Spurs to battle with arch north London rivals Arsenal to sign Aston Villa star Jack Grealish – claiming that he would ‘certainly improve‘ Jose Mourinho’s squad ahead of his first full season in charge.

Grealish, who has scored seven goals whilst racking up six assists over 34 Premier League starts for the Villans, is currently one of Villa’s shining lights despite their relegation-fighting status – with reports linking the Englishman to a move away from the Midlands.

Could Spurs sign Grealish?

Yes, 100%

No, not with Levy

Almost two years ago, according to a recent exclusive from the Sun, Tottenham could have signed Grealish for as little as £6 million – with the playmaker now valued at around £80 million.

Arguably one of chairman Daniel Levy’s biggest transfer mistakes, ESPN pundit Burley has now recently tipped Spurs to move back in for Grealish – citing us as one of the most credible candidates alongside Arsenal.

The £100,000-per-week attacker, according to WhoScored, would certainly add a degree of quality in the final third – having made more key passes per 90 than any Tottenham player this season.

Indeed, as well as this, only Spurs stars Son Heung-min and Harry Kane have averaged more shots on goal per game than the 24-year-old – potentially highlighting the fact he would be an asset under Mourinho.

Our boss has made no secret of his admiration for Grealish in the past, describing him as ‘very talented’ and ‘very important’ to Villa’s survival hopes.

Ex-Premier League manager Neil Warnock is also an admirer, labelling the midfielder ‘fantastic‘ – but whether or not we enter the race for his signature remains to be seen.
