Jod.. Your negative response / answer still did not mention players to come into spurs. Anyway there are a few points….. as normal loan deals…Lyon are paying the part wages and or a fee for ndombele, Skippy is better than Hoj. and will be first choice as conte has said, so Hoj can go and an upgrade needed in mf. Winks will go to a mid PL club or abroad, players can decide and tell agents what they want to do, bergwijin for example has already hinted that he would go. Our Dof and conte will discuss transfers with Levy and we will wait and see what happens.

Niall, yes there are a lot to possible players… remember poch moved on 13 players when he joined spurs.

I do not have the time to go into a monologue answer, the above will have to do.

Just to repeat……we CAN sell Winks, N’Dombele, Emerson Royal, Lo Celso, Gollini, Sanchez, Bergweijn, Gil etc. just to get them off our books. They are surplus to requirements and nowhere near good enough even for the bench for a top 4 side.
Its a bit like offering goods to a charity shop or jumble sale. You feel so good afterwards to get rid of unwanted goods. If you don’t need them get rid.

What a good result yet again. To be fair Villa battered us in the first half but we managed to stay in the game, survived the storm and punished them second half.

Like Geof, I thought 4th was a dream but we surely have to be considered candidates, if not favourites, for 4th now. That, to me, is down to Conte.

If Arsenal drop 1 more point, we are officially in control of our destiny (and even as things stand, it’d be an uphill battle for Arsenal to make up the 10 goal difference in GD over the last 7/8 games).

Our run in seems favourable compared to theirs, and with a bit of luck, we may be well clear of them by the time our game against them comes around.

  • Niall D says:

    Hi BS
Good point, and if we consider that Arsenal’s “run in” is arguably more difficult than ours.
Our difficulty stems from our (lack of) squad depth, as I said earlier in the post we could be an Injury and a yellow card away from disaster.
Now the Injury to Doherty has occurred, I’m sort of hoping that’s as bad as it gets, with that said I think Kane and Romero are both a yellow card away from a ban, if we lose either or both of them even for a game, it’s so tight that it we could end up losing out.
B108 100% on transfers, there is, a market out there for our “bit part players”.
CCV is raising interest after a good season at Celtic, and could be worth more than the 5 mil quoted, there is mention of us getting a 10 mil sell on fee for a former player.
Winks and Rodon will easily sell on to the likes of S’oton or Everton.
N Dombers, LoCeslo and Gill are all impressing at there current “loaned clubs so they could be sold with little loss.
I don’t see the (finincial) doom and gloom predicted or alluded to by Jod.
Who let’s be honest wanted us to give up the ghost finish 10th at the end of February.

  • wentworth says:

We desperately need a Dele Alli or Eriksen replacement to enliven the midfield. Not that long ago Dele was banging in goals and providing assists. Also Eriksen was controlling the midfield.
James Maddison is being mentioned and is Prem proven unlike the weak Lo Celso and disinterested N’Dombele who failed dismally.
Just two decent signings could take us to the next level.

    • TQ2Spurs says:

WW…..I beg to suggest it’s something like 4 years or more since Dele put in a good run of scoring and assists. We persevered with him for too long and it’s no real surprise he can’t get into a struggling Everton side.

  • Niall D says:

Fek me WW you’ve seen the light around Christmas you wanted the lot sold bar Sonny and Kane, now, we just need two players.😉😂
In honesty I do think we need 5 or 6 in with those loanees out and several others IMO 9 out 5 or 6 in, with that said another 2 quality players will make us better, but we still won’t have the depth in our squad for a full season.
We’re at the pointy end now, and a small injury to another key player could cost us, I sincerely hope not 🙏🤞

  • TK says:

Doherty gone for the season. Who would have worried about that a month ago, but now… He surely has been hiding in plain sight. Now his loss seems important. He’s really been contributing.

We need new wingbacks, and at least one new CB, and a new crafty midfielder and some depth to the squad. Then we can go for the top of the league.

I was really down of Kane early in the season when he seemed only partially in each match. Now Conte has him up to world class again–as the new Modric. lol.

Got to keep him now that he’s a motivated player once again. Pure class on the pitch when he’s fully into it.

I’ve never been as keen on Lloris as his reputation would have us believe, but he really was a wonder in the first half vs the Villans.

Conte really has me wondering whether this could be a team for the ages.

  • wentworth says:

Niall….I was referring to the eleven on the pitch. We need 5 or 6 decent subs as well not the benchwarmers we have at the moment. Two top players on the pitch plus 5 or 6 new recruits to create competition.
I agree I was disheartened earlier in the season but did not take into account the impact of Bentancur and Kulusevski. We have definitely improved but we still need a midfield general to pull the strings, another wing back and striker/goalscorer to give Harry some respite. Oh that makes 3. Always been rubbish at Maths.
Also, it is time to give some youngsters playing time to dust off the cobwebs of sitting around waiting for an opportunity. Surely one could get a game for 20 minutes instead of 30 seconds like Scarlett.
