On Tuesday evening Argentina took to the pitch to face off against Mexico in a friendly and although they took a 2-0 victory at the Malvinas Argentinas with goals from Mauro Icardi and Paulo Dybala – Erik Lamela stole the show for these fans.
The 26-year-old has won plenty of plaudits in recent times given his performances when called upon by manager Mauricio Pochettino and in 13 appearances, he’s scored six goals already and a number are already commenting on how he now appears to be back to his best.
Having missed out on their squad for the World Cup last summer, Lamela had a point to prove with him back in the team and he was in fine fettle offensively and helped himself to an assist for their opener two minutes into the tie.
On the back of the performance, he certainly came in for plenty of praise once again from those on social media.
