Spurs Hopeful Of Completing £30m Deal With Reports Claiming Personal Terms Agreed For Impressive Midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has already been linked with a swoop for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes given his impressive adjustment to Premier League life during his loan spell with Everton in the 2018/19 campaign.

The 25-year-old has grown into the league quite nicely as the season drew on, and with Sunday’s curtain closer between both sides, he’ll be looking to make it 26 starts with three substitute showings for his first year in our top flight. The defensive minded midfielder has also chipped in with one goal and one assist for Marco Silva’s side.

Given the game, it’s no surprise to see speculation about his future return given our apparent interest and reports in Spain (via the Metro) have now claimed that we have already agreed personal terms with the Portugal international and we are now hopeful of agreeing a £30million deal with his parent club for his services next summer.

Speaking in his own pre-game press conference Silva seemed to deny any deal or decision had yet been made by the player.

“The only feedback I hear from now is from Andre and what he said to me. Our relationship is really honest. He hasn’t decided anything about his future and his agent either.”

With speculation suggesting that Eric Dier will move on this summer, following the departure of Mousa Dembele in the January transfer window, it’s easy to see why we may have an interest in Gomes but until he’s in the shirt and on the pitch…
