Spurs Star “100%” Intends To Return To Former Club In The Future

|

With Tottenham Hotspur centre-half Toby Alderweireld enjoying a magical night against former club Ajax in Wednesday evening’s Champions League Semi-Final second leg as we fought back from three nil down to take an aggregate victory, the 30-year-old has admitted that before he hangs his boots up he “100%” intends to return to the club to square the circle on his career.

Having come through their Academy as a youngster before moving onto Atletico Madrid and Southampton, before arriving at White Hart Lane back in the summer of 2015, he obviously has a soft spot in his heart for the Dutch side and although he doesn’t sound like he plans on making a return for a few years yet, he was quoted by Sky Sports as saying this week.

“I don’t want to make too popular statements, but it is certainly 100 per cent in my head. I have had wonderful times here with three championships, but also lows. But my family was happy here too.”

Of more interest to Spurs fans will be his more immediate future with his 12 month extension giving rise to a short term £25million release fee over the summer.
