“Hoping To Go Out With A Bang” – If This Is His Last Year, Spurs Man Wants To Make History

|

With Tottenham Hotspur staging a monumental comeback against Ajax in the midweek Champions League Semi-Final over in Holland, we already know that Liverpool now await us in the Final over in Madrid.

Many fans hope that it will be a big summer for Spurs now we are back at White Hart Lane and manager Mauricio Pochettino has made no secret of wanting the build a team that now matches the quality of our stadium so we no longer punch above our weight and that inevitably means departures as well as arrivals.

Having been free to leave in previous windows, the future of Danny Rose features highly on the rumour mill as we head towards the summer and speaking after the game to the media, Sky Sports quote the 29-year-old as saying that if this is his last year at the club, he intends to go out on a high.

“I keep seeing my name, that I’m being sold. So if that’s the case and it’s going to be my last game for Tottenham against Liverpool, I’m hoping to go out with a bang and lift a trophy. It’s a Champions League final, so individual situations have to take a back seat and you have to put the club first. We are going to do that. We do realise we have a chance to make history.”

Whatever happens now, it’s certainly the right attitude to have. It’s the chance to create history and for any player who is unlikely to be with us when the next transfer window closes, boasting a CL winners medal will only help them secure future employers.
