Tottenham Hotspur blew the battle for the top four wide open on Saturday afternoon as we fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Dean Court.
With two quick red cards for Son Heung-Min and Juan Foyth either side of the halftime break, manager Mauricio Pochettino’s side had to play for over 40 minutes with only nine men on the pitch and in some ways that probably sums up the season given the players we’re regularly lacked through injury.
Third spot remains in our hands though, but it wasn’t the perfect preparation for next week’s Champions League Semi-Final second leg given we already trail 1-0 and it seems the season has now properly caught up with the players.
We just have to hope they recover quickly, both physically and mentally for the two massive games that lie ahead and ultimately what will be will be.
Sometimes in football, you just have to laugh though.
