With incredibly poor form from Tottenham Hotspur and England right back Kieran Trippier this year, the 28-year-old has become a favourite on the rumour mill as we look to summer dealings over the summer.
Trippier’s future has been in doubt for a while with plenty of reports linking Serie A side Napoli, as well as Manchester United and Everton as having a potential interest in him, and more generic reports have listed him as one of the numerous player’s manager Mauricio Pochettino is happy to jettison as we look to significantly improve the overall quality of the squad and our options in a way more befitting our new Stadium.
Sky Sports Italia via Football Italia have reported this weekend that Trippier’s wife has been spotted over in Naples checking out schools, and that has obviously ramped up the speculation about his coming departure.
The Sun (trust at your own peril) state that we are holding out for £40million this summer and that we’ve already rejected an opening gambit from Napoli of £17million.
They also quote Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti as confirming he has an interest in the player.
“I don’t like talking about players from other teams. Trippier’s wife in Naples? I honestly don’t know, but Naples is a beautiful city, there are people who come on holiday. But Lozano and Trippier are players who we are evaluating, then later there is everything else that is much more complex. Negotiations, players who prefer other things.
