Spurs “Demand” Could Scupper Eriksen’s Dream Move

|

With ongoing and endless speculation surrounding the future of Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen and his ‘will he, won’t he’ transfer to Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer, one tangent to the speculation on the rumour mill is beginning to gain traction and it surrounds the involvement of Marco Asensio in the deal.

With the current favourite rumour being that Madrid will try and strike a cash + Dani Ceballos swap deal, it’s not the first time that 23-year-old versatile attacker Asensio has been suggested as an alternative option.

Spurs Linked With Another £80m Real Madrid Player

As per the above, it was only last Saturday/Sunday that it was being claimed that Zinedine Zidane has transfer listed the attacker, but this weekend the Sun have claimed that Zidane does not want the player to leave, and has already rejected an approach from Juventus, but that won’t stop us from demanding that the player is included in any Eriksen deal, even if the agreement is only an initial 12 month loan.

They further posit that a refusal to include Asensio in the deal would ‘scupper’ the entire transfer.

I’m not so sure myself as they present it that Asensio would have no choice in the matter and that’s not quite how football tends to work these days.
