The main problem that a lot of Tottenham fans have got isn’t to do with a single position, although they’re certainly struggling for a right-back! Instead, the issue is with the fan-dubbed ‘contract rebels’ and the supporters have been having their say on what they would have done to prevent the current issues.
Christian Eriksen wants to move elsewhere, Toby Alderweireld wanted a contract he's not worth and Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose are at a stage they should move on. But selling these players 2/3 years ago would have outraged #thfc fans.

Those ‘contract rebels’ consist of Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose, and it certainly is a huge problem having four key first-team players, who have been a staple of the starting eleven for four or five years, all wanting to leave and creating problems for the club’s hierarchy.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, though, so all the fans have been popping up with potential solutions that they would have implemented, but had Mauricio Pochettino looked to offload one of Eriksen, Vertonghen or Alderweireld back in 2017 there’s no doubt the fans would have been fuming.
Should Eriksen be starting for Spurs?
Yes
No
You can read the Lilywhites’ thoughts on the contract situations here:
I’d have signed young competition for Eriksen sooner, so we had a ready made replacement ready to. Maddison was bought cheap

Should’ve phased them out one by one like Pochettino originally wanted.

They should have ALL gone in the summer after the CL final.
This must be the longest hangover in history.
Just for morale, get them out and get fresh blood in to go again.
Utter mess right now #COYS

Paid them what they were worth 3 years ago or sold them last year either way it’s been handled abysmally and that falls at Levy’s door. The rest on the pitch players and manager

I would have used my 20 20 hindsight as foresight.

Nobody is bigger than the club

Tottenham fans have all got their ideas on what they should have done over the last couple of years to prevent the current mess, but it’s obviously easier said than done given the circumstances.
