Rumoured Tottenham Target Comments On His Future

|

The rumour mill surrounding Tottenham Hotspur needs no explaining – it can hardly be accused of being even accidentally accurate given the fact we made no signings in either of this season’s summer or winter transfer windows – but that doesn’t stop the speculation from coming and with serious questions about the futures of Serge Aurier and Kieran Trippier, Crystal Palace talent Aaron Wan-Bissaka has often been mentioned in the same breath as Spurs.

There’s little to the speculation outside of the fact that manager Mauricio Pochettino likes to work with young players with serious development potential, the lad has got plenty of promise and we have right back issues, but it’s a story that won’t go away as the summer nears.

Speaking recently to Football London Wan-Bissaka himself said he was pleased with the speculation as that meant he was doing the right things on the pitch, but he expected to remain a Crystal Palace player next season, having signed a contract extension 12 odd months ago.

“The situation just shows that my performances don’t go unnoticed. But I am with Crystal Palace at the moment. That is where my contract is and that is where I will be next season. I have got three years left on my contract. It says I am going to be there, so that is all I can focus on now.”

Quite a mature response in many ways from the 21-year-old and that in itself will probably make him more attractive for fans.

Having lifted Palace’s Player and Players’ Player of the Season awards for 2018/19, as well as their Community Champions gong, it’ll be interesting to see if anything comes of the rumours.
