Spurs Star Makes “Verbal Agreement” Before Clubs Even Agree A Fee – Report

|

It’s a new month, so for Tottenham Hotspur that means a new and slightly fresh twist on the rumour mill when it comes to Christian Eriksen’s future.

Fresh from Tuesday evening’s disappointing defeat to Ajax in the Champions League Semi-Final first leg, it seems that Spanish outlet AS thought Wednesday would be a good time to launch a new piece of Eriksen speculation – especially in light of the fact it was a poor performance by his own standards on the White Hart Lane pitch against our Dutch opposition.

The claim is that Real Madrid’s highly reported chase of the Dane has taken a new turn, and the player has made a ‘verbal agreement’ to move to the Santiago Bernabeu over the summer and they even suggest that contract terms have been discussed and he would naturally improve upon his deal with us.

There is one problem. The report admits they haven’t yet sat down with Spurs to thrash out a transfer package, and they expect that to be problematic following the discussions between the clubs previously when Luka Modric made a similar transfer. Gareth Bale gets the obligatory reference as well. As does Mauricio Pochettino.

With Eriksen’s contract running out and no new deal yet agreed, the outlet further states that Real are confident they can get the 27-year-old for less than 150million Euros.

I remain confident, they don’t actually know.
