Tottenham signed Jack Clarke from Leeds United over the summer and loaned him back to Elland Road for the season. The 18-year-old has struggled for playing time under Marcelo Bielsa, however, which may see Spurs consider cutting the move short in January.
Clarke made 25 appearances for Leeds in all competitions last season but hasn’t racked up a single minute of Championship football in 2019/20. He was an unused substitute against Bristol City (August 4) and Nottingham Forest (August 10) and hasn’t made the matchday squad since.
The winger’s only appearances have come in the EFL Cup – Salford (August 13), Stoke City (August 27). Spurs will have been hoping Clarke would feature regularly for Leeds after his breakthrough campaign, but he’s been continually left out due to the ‘maximum five loanees in one squad’ rule.
Clarke is able to return to Tottenham in January, and supporters have been talking about the possibility of his early return on social media.
We have the option to bring him back in January if he ain’t getting game time .. I’d recall him and try loan him elsewhere.

Are we allowed to call him back at anytime? If so surely it’s better for him to train and play in our reserves than at Leeds? Then maybe loan him out in January

Jack Clarke not in the Leeds squad again. Honestly what was the point in sending him there, ridiculous decision, there should have been assurances made about involvement. #THFC

The 18-year-old is unlikely to get more opportunities in Spurs’ first-team this season, but Mauricio Pochettino would surely prefer to have the player back in London rather than going stagnant at Leeds.
