Report reveals which Tottenham player could ‘go on loan’ to Crystal Palace in January

|

According to Martin Lipton of The Sun, Kyle Walker-Peters ‘will go on loan’ in January and could join Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old is surplus to requirements in North London despite being a regular at the start of the season.

Walker-Peters started in Tottenham’s first three Premier League games but hasn’t featured in the top-flight since Spurs’ 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on August 25. He’s not made the matchday squad in any of the five games that followed either.

The England u21 international was on the bench in the Champions League (against Olympiacos) on September 18 and did feature in the EFL Cup against Colchester United on September 24, but Mauricio Pochettino no longer appears to have a place for him in the squad.

Walker-Peters’ departure in January would leave Serge Aurier and Juan Foyth competing for a spot at right-back. Whether Spurs are planning to shop for a replacement in the winter transfer window remains to be seen.

Since rising through the youth ranks to the Tottenham first-team in 2017, Walker-Peters has made 23 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating six goals. It appears he may have played his game for the club, however.
