Tottenham drew 1-1 with Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon and Giovani Lo Celso was one of very few players to come away with any credit for his performance. The 23-year-old started as a wide-forward against United and looked the most threatening player throughout.
Lo Celso hasn’t long recovered from injury, but he’s putting in impressive performances for Mauricio Pochettino. Supporters have been desperate to see the Argentine international in action, and his positive showing over the weekend highlights why.
One last Tottenham thought today. Lo Celso was the bright spot in another dark day. Easily MOTM. I’m becoming more convinced the need for a philosophy change opting for new blood and squad rotation over old guard Kumbaya handholding. #COYS #THFC

When you have a weak defense you can’t try and defend a 1-0 lead. Again a basic mistake by Poch. Continue attacking instead of bringing on Foyth for Dele. Davies shockingly poor delivery today. Lo Celso looks good. #THFC #COYS

Positives from today … Winks did well off the bench, Lo Celso and N’Dombele are coming along, think Foyth is looking better each time he plays.
Still mystified as to why we can’t quite perform consistently at the moment .. #THFC— Matt Sweet (@bubba_sweet) November 9, 2019
Lo Celso and Son were the only real hope of life going forward.
That’s about it really. #THFC #COYS

Tottenham observations .
Only 3 outfield players put in a shift Son, Lo Celso, Sanchez.
Is that the same Dier that used to play for England?
I still trust in Poch but something’s v wrong at the moment . #COYS #THFC

Against the Blades, Lo Celso played for 90 minutes, made 84 touches, created two chances, had two chances, completed 83.6% of his 61 passes, whipped in three crosses, made two tackles, had two successful dribbles, made one clearance and drew three fouls.
Should Mauricio Pochettino keep picking Giovani Lo Celso over Christian Eriksen?
Yes
No
The 23-year-old has made eight appearances in all competitions since joining from Real Betis over the summer, scoring one goal. Lo Celso has recently replaced the out-of-form Christian Eriksen from the starting lineup and could keep his place under Pochettino if he continues to impress.
Tottenham next face West Ham United (away) after the international break and will be desperate to return to winning ways.
