Tottenham Hotspur welcomed newly promoted and plucky Sheffield United to White Hart Lane for today’s Premier League clash and fans had everything crossed that we would make it back to back victories this week to renew some hope that our struggles were coming to an end.
The truth is, it was another poor game from us and even though we dominated possession and edged chances on the day, our errors could’ve been punished. A goalless first half threatened to spark to life in the second period as Son Heung-Min opened the scoring just ahead of the hour mark, but having already had a goal scrubbed off by VAR – with the now obligatory wasted minutes of confusion – the visitors did get a reward to take a point from the tie and there will be those who acknowledge it was the least Chris Wilder’s side deserved.
Spurs are without a league win since September, although we are on a small unbeaten run now, however, we still slip down to 12th place in the table.
