Pundit Savages Reported Spurs Target As Speculation Builds

|

The Tottenham Hotspur summer rumour mill has often been quite a predictable place to be, as like normal, links and speculation gets rehashed and often without any fresh information being provided and Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been another name that has regularly featured.

With claim and counterclaim about his potential future at the La Liga club stepping up, like all rumours, the nearer we get to the Champions League Final against Liverpool where real decisions about the makeup of manager Mauricio Pochettino’s first team squad will be made, when it comes to the 23-year-old, the press favour Everton and Spurs as the two main clubs in the hunt.

Spurs have reportedly had a recent £53million bid rejected, whilst Everton were claimed to be preparing a presumed equally knocked back £40million offer.

Former Liverpool player Chris Nicol has recently told ESPN that either club would be mad to go in for the player as he doesn’t believe he’s cut out for our top flight.

“This guy’s a nice player to watch. He’s got a nice left foot, he plays some nice passes, he scores some nice goals. But this guy is not cut out for the Premier League. Physically and mentally, I don’t see how he’s tough enough or strong enough to play a season. He is absolutely not the answer in the middle of the field.”

It’s always the problem at this time of year as everyone has their say on who would be a good target and who wouldn’t, most of the time they are just names to me but plenty of Spurs fans on social media have been incredibly positive about what he could bring to the pitch – equally plenty seem to agree with Nicol.

In Poch we trust, if he feels he can get a song out of the lad, who am I to argue?
