Four Return To Training As Spurs Eye CL Final – “Very Good News For Us”

|

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that he had welcomed four players back to full training as we continue to prepare for the upcoming Champions League Final out in Madrid against Liverpool.

The main story to come from this was obviously the full return of Harry Kane with both he, and Pochettino, making hugely positive comments about his fitness and the likelihood of him definitely coming back into thoughts for June 1 but the return of Davison Sanchez, Harry Winks and Jan Vertonghen will also be a massive boost for fans as we look to one last huge effort in the 2018/19 season and history.

Speaking to the Official Site Poch said of the foursome.

“Harry Kane in the last week, Friday and Saturday, started to be involved with the group. It’s very positive, the situation with him. We have one week ahead to see how he is progressing. It’s so important that he feels well and he’s very positive. We’ll see what happens, but we are so, so positive and happy with his progression, like Jan Vertonghen, Harry Winks and Davinson Sanchez who are in the same process. The four players started Friday and Saturday to be involved with the group. That made everyone very positive that they can be available at the weekend. That’s very good news for us.”

The starting XI will continue to be debated by fans as the game draws near and whatever way Poch goes, at least it should mean we naturally have a stronger bench as that will be important as the game goes on.
