With Tottenham Hotspur beginning their 2018/19 Champions League campaign with an extremely disappointing late defeat to Inter Milan on Tuesday evening at the San Siro – the game has certainly seen its fair share of fall out.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino’s post-game game anger and frustration, questions from the fan base at the performances of individual players, and the now hot topic – Harry Kane and his sharpness – but another element to consider is the fact that Spurs have now gone on a run of three defeats on the spin and that hasn’t happened before under our Argentine gaffer.
Following the 2-1 defeat, Pochettino commented that for him it was our best performance of the season so far, and we were just unfortunately undone by our set-piece flaw. Plenty disagreed.
SPOT ON – The changes put us on the back foot – NO ATTACK after that – So they hammer the flanks with crosses. Aka – most teams who do us are mostly with corners and crosses.

The second half of that game was the only good part. First half we were lucky to be tied

Best performance of the season. He’s talking about cows ???? and now this. He needs to ease up on the coolade.

Poch needs to take a drug test because he’s clearly on something if he thinks that’s our best performance! Everything has absolutely shocking so far players comfortable putting in bang average performances, manager doesn’t look happy and board are a joke at the moment!

He has totally lost the plot

I’m not sure Pochettino has lost the plot, but he was clearly angered as his whole press conference showed with his choice of words and the way he argued in favour of the players so I think he overstated the point for effect as he got caught up in the moment – as few would put that performance above the Manchester United showing for a start.
After a defeat like that there will always be a reaction and an overreaction in the moment from fans, but a few of those social media comments above go too far in my humble.
