Tottenham will likely be in the market for a new right-back this summer, with a host of names being linked to the club since Jose Mourinho took over.

Youngsters such as Max Aarons and Nathan Ferguson have reportedly been eyed by Spurs, along with Thomas Meunier, but now it seems we are after OGC Nice’s Youcef Atal, according to French publication Le Foot.

The 23-year-old is an Algeria international, and won the 2019 Africa Cup on Nations with The Desert Foxes, while he is rated quite highly in France.

Would Youcef Atal be a good addition?

Yes

No

He may be injured currently but Transfermarkt value him at £22.5m, which is a handsome sum for any right-back, let alone a player who is yet to play in one of Europe’s top four leagues.

Many supporters are naturally excited by the targeting of Atal as a result, particularly as his arrival could see Serge Aurier’s place in the team come under threat.

Here is how some fans have reacted to news, with their delight clearly on full show.
