Path clears for Tottenham to press on and seal potentially record-breaking signing

|

The race for Maxi Gomez looks there for the winning for Spurs now with the Daily Star’s latest report in mind.

The striker has caught the interest of many this summer after a good individual season despite Celta Vigo struggling in La Liga.

He has a release clause of £43m which would break the record we’ve paid for a player, and it seems as though we’re the last side in the running to get him.

Indeed, the report suggests that both Liverpool and West Ham have decided not to pursuit a deal with the forward, whilst Spurs have held talks over a potential switch.

It would seem that the path has cleared for us to take him to the Premier League, then, but, of course, until he has a white shirt held aloft and a medical done we won’t count our chickens.

Even so, a promising enough report nonetheless for sure.
