This summer has been massive for Tottenham so far, and it looks like their best business is yet to come. Not the signing of Giovani Lo Celso or Ryan Sessegnon, no, but keeping hold of their magic Danish midfield man Christian Eriksen.

The story surrounding Eriksen’s exit has largely gone very cold. Football.London have expertly kept us all up to date on the Dane’s future, but now it seems that whilst Atletico Madrid looked poised to take the midfielder, they’ve now opted to move for James Rodriguez instead, as per Marca.

Whilst things can change very quickly in the transfer window, it seems that there is now no direct threat of losing Eriksen and the Danish midfield man will be set to stay at Tottenham and start his seventh year with the club that he joined from Ajax way back in 2013.

The Spurs man is valued at a whopping £90m by Transfermarkt, and over the course of his six-year stay at Tottenham, we’ve seen him live up to every single penny of that valuation, scoring 66 goals and assisting a further 86 in his 277 games for the club.

Saying goodbye to a player like Eriksen will be incredibly hard when the day comes, and the fans will be absolutely delighted to hear that it may not be this summer. Should he leave, both Eriksen and the club would have to be okay with it and the buying club would need to meet the price tag that Tottenham have on their playmaker.

This summer, that looks unlikely, and whilst he may only have a deal at Spurs that runs until 2020, keeping him this summer and giving it another year to negotiate a new deal is much better than losing him in the next couple of weeks.

  • Regretably, Eriksen has had very bad advice from his entourage and has also been duped by the false promises of Woodward & Perez. Time to let that all go Christian. The bestboffer you’ll ever get is now on the table – Sign on for another 4 years and help us reach the very top.

  • I absolutely agree that keeping CE@Toby would be our best Business in this TW. Furthermore I believe that it is also important to get Lo Celso in as well and thereby get an able player to share the creativity. Let’s not forget that CE played 55 times for Club and Country last season and this was no doubt the reason that we saw a bit of decline in CE’s form toward the end of last season. If we in addition to N’dombele can bring in Lo Celso, Sessegnon and keep Toby and CE as well, – I truly believe that we come end May, will proudly be lifting the PL Trophy.

Let’s not forget about young Parot who can play up.front as well. This will be another hard summer on our players and what we must look out for are reinforcements so that the same guys arent asked to start each game. We must be also mindful of Kane being injury prone.
A word of caution is that I would play Eriksen mainly against the weaker teams in the PL since he seems to be less effective against the others who make up the top 6. I’m also concerned about Rose. He really came to life at the end of last season. We also need not to frustrate Sissoko. He was great last season as well. All of a sudden our attacking half is looking great.

  • Personally i think keeping a leader like Rose could be the best business if i am being hones. If Eriksen leaves than so be it, but Rose has become Spurs and is an England international and we decide to sell him unceremoniously through the back door!? Disgraceful
