Opinion: Key Tottenham man is worth every penny of lofty valuation

|

Tottenham Hotspur are a top club in a very strange place at the moment. The Lilywhites have won just two of their opening eight games this season so far and things do not look great. Now, though, the fans have been given some good news as Harry Kane’s price tag has been revealed.

According to The Telegraph, Daniel Levy has slapped a gargantuan £250m price tag on the head of his prize asset in an attempt to deter the top European sides from entering the market for the striker should the Lilywhites fail to win anything this season.

With that being said, it’s also key to remember Mauricio Pochettino’s recent comments where he claimed that January will be a chance for a big fix at Tottenham Hotspur, as per Sky Sports. It looks like the club are starting to look in the right direction, but the form on the pitch is certainly poor.

Getting away from Tottenham as a club and their current form, it’s Harry Kane we’re looking at here. The England captain has bagged five goals in seven games this season, as per Transfermarkt, and is one of the biggest names in football at the moment.

Over the course of his Tottenham career, the England man has bagged 169 goals in his 260 games and has a valuation of £135m, via Transfermarkt, and those are the sort of numbers that not many forwards can boast in the world game.

Whilst there aren’t many who have a similar tally in front of goal to the Spurs man, though, there are plenty who have won more than the 26-year-old in football, and if Kane does decide that leaving the Lilywhites is the way to go, it’s vital that Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy get the money that he’s worth from a sale.

With the money flying around in football now too, the sum of £250m is hardly unfair for someone of Kane’s calibre. He’s a guaranteed goalscorer and when fit he delivers upwards of 30 per season for his side, making him one of those in football who truly is priceless
