Opinion: It has to be time for Tottenham fans to see key starlet this season

|

What more does Juan Foyth have to do, or more what more can the likes of Davinson Sanchez and Serge Aurier do, for the Argentine defender to start ahead of his competition at right-back. Aurier has been nothing short of a shambolic embarrassment, and Sanchez is certainly not a right-back.

Should the likes of Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters be the two to rotate between the right-back role for the rest of the season we’d have some very pleased Tottenham fans. However, it just seems like Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t see what the fans are all seeing.

Thankfully, we all know that Serge Aurier is not going to feature when the Lilywhites travel to The Amex Stadium as a result of his sending off against Southampton last time out. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that we will see who we want to see at right-back.

So far this season, Juan Foyth is yet to feature for the club. However, he is fit and ready, and he took up a place on the bench when the Lilywhites drew 0-0 and lost on penalties away at Colchester in the League Cup before being called up to Argentina’s squad to face Germany and Ecuador in the upcoming international break.

Across the back end of last season and during the summer Foyth was used as a right-back, and now it looks like he could be set to feature there going forward. However, it’s not an easy role to fill, especially with the recent media attention that has been surrounding the role as of late.

It makes sense that there is a lot being said about Tottenham’s right-back situation, though, seeing as whoever plays there, barring a couple of solid Walker-Peters displays, has been shambolic, and surely the club cannot deny that now Foyth has to be their best option going forward?
