It’s felt like an eternity since Ben Davies was on the pitch in Tottenham colours, but the Wales international could soon be back in the XI after a lengthy layoff through injury.
With Ben Davies closing in on a return to action, I ask whether the Welshman gets into our strongest XI?
Jose Mourinho has previously suggested that he’s an integral part of his plans.#THFC #COYS

Football London report that the former Swansea City defender could be back in the squad for Tottenham’s fixture against Aston Villa this weekend, with the 26-year-old being out of action since picking up an ankle injury in Jose Mourinho’s first game in charge as manager of Spurs back in November.
Does Ben Davies start at left-back?
Yes
No
The left-back position has seen multiple players take up the role from Ryan Sessegnon to Japhet Tanganga, but some Tottenham supporters on social media are keen on Davies reprising his former place in the starting XI with the Welsh international set to return to the team.
Here’s what a handful of Tottenham fans had to say about Davies taking up the left-back spot for the club’s Premier League game against Aston Villa this weekend on Twitter…
Of course he does, he’s the only left back we have.

Yes. I think tanganga has been our best defender, so its who out of aurier and Sanchez is dropped. (From best 11; but need rotation)
(Keeping Toby for the experience and passing)

Absolutely

Yes. He’s a better LB than Jan and Sess. And Tanganga isn’t a natural LB

Yes for now

Him left back and tangana right back, don’t want to see anything else this season. Aurier is so done, don’t know how people see he has improved. Will always be a liability

A win for Spurs will see the north London club return to fifth in the Premier League table.
