Spurs Word On The Tweet

“Nothing short of useless” – Tons of Spurs fans crucify “garbage” midfielder with “no talent”

|

There was little hope of Tottenham overcoming RB Leipzig in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 tie, yet more Spurs supporters would have predicted a bigger fightback than what they actually saw last night.

Spurs were outplayed in east Germany as Jose Mourinho’s side fell to a 3-0 defeat against the Bundesliga side, with Tottenham now out of every cup competition this season and only having league football to contest for the remainder of the campaign. And on a night of a number of players underperforming, Harry Winks was a name plenty of supporters took aim at.

Is Tottenham's season over?

Yes

No

The England international was slammed heavily on social media by Spur fans following the full-time whistle as the Tottenham academy graduate put on a poor performance against Leipzig, with Winks only managing one dribble all game as well as having a fairly low pass completion rate of 80%.

Here’s what plenty of Tottenham supporters had to say on Twitter about Winks’ performance…

With Spurs in poor form in the Premier League, this could well be the last time the north London club play Champions League football for some time.

The season was over when Kane, Son and Sissoko went down, simply because since Kane became the go to man we have never tried to sign a back up striker to challenge him and give him much needed rest, the result is the now annual injury that keeps him out for weeks/months and we are surprised when we find we do not have a back up. Time to give Parrott, Skipp, Tanganga and Harvey White a run of a few games so that Jose can see what he has for next year, it should affect his rebuilding program if these guys have it, and it can only help him and maybe save the club money that will please Levy

When I look at Spurs, it is not the lack of effort I can blame, because you can see everyone is trying.
Maybe that excuses Mourinho for digging out Ndombele, who probably ‘wants’ to try but can’t because he isn’t fit enough. Enough of him, although I hope he follows (a bit more quickly) Sissoko’s example of getting over a tough first season and a half, where he was derided by all, before showing us what he can bring to our side.
But re the match. I don’t think I can ever remember a Spurs match, in the last five years, where the opponents controlled everything defensively, midfield and attack, without breaking out of 3rd gear. Even the Barca defeat at Wembley, among others, brought far more Glory than this defeat. It’s been clear all season (OK, when Kane and Son were around it papered over cracks, but even they weren’t showing the form they’re really capable of) that the last 4 transfer windows have been terribly handled by Levy (and probably Poch).
How many chances do we want to sign top cover for Kane, and if I hear one more time from pundits that a top striker will be thinking he’ll have to sit on the bench when Kane is fit, I’ll scream!!!! What about managing Kane’s fitness and injury problems more? Why CAN’T another top striker play when Kane is fit? Why can’t both provide a spearhead in certain games. Why can’t they alternate in FA Cup and League Cup games? Even in some PL and CL games (well unlikely the latter next season)? It’s all nonsense!! Levy, PLEASE, this summer, buy a top striker!!! Someone who wants to compete with Kane, someone who wants to complement Kane, someone who wants to even cover for an increasingly injury prone Kane, and someone who’s not fearing the bench, because I’m sure he’d come off that bench plenty of times in a season!
Then there’s our full back situation! What a joke. A few seasons back we were the envy of Europe let alone the PL, in that we had Walker/Tripps and Rose/Davies. Now, ahem, we’ve just got the disastrous Aurier, a half-in half-out Davies, and a few slightly square pegs in round holes for cover and experimentation.
We’ve got ageing and slower central defenders. No DMs because of the decline of Dier, and the complete loss of Wanyama. Regression in Sanches, and a stall in Foyth.
Other than that, we do have some damn fine player, but they’re all playing like strangers out of position.
What a mess! We have to accept we’re playing ‘relegation’ football right now, and Mourinho has to take some of the blame with his tactics. We can all chop and change players, but Mourinho is acting like a desperate man. We have been exposed, and the Poch project, which climaxed last summer with wonderful memories but the tragedy of having won no trophies over such brilliant years, is now gone. Poch was almost talking himself out of a job last summer, and his floundering around early this season possibly justified his departure. But now we have to support Mourinho, and more importantly, Levy does!

I did not expect any thing else, what did we expect, we lost Ericsson two full backs sissoko Kane son ,levy should have spent, now this is going to cost the club a lot of money, now levy has the cheap to say if we don’t get into the top four it will hit the transfer funds ,yet as far as I’m concerned he caused it,.
I have always said if you want to compete with the big boys you have to spend big,the number of good players we have lost over the last few years because he dilly dailies, when will he learn
A lot of players will not want to come to spurs now because we are not in European championship

    Reality Check !
Time to support the club and lose this attachment to the players. Too many players at Spurs are there because of media hype, attachment and familiarity. They are not part of your family there employees and most not good enough to ply their trade elsewhere hence the poor form. Start from the ground floor up. You, we, they owe you nothing ! They are paid well to kick a bag of air around a pitch for 90 minutes.
This is a problem that holds all clubs back not just Spurs – Everyone has their favourites but the club must always come before the players – Hence last year champions league final selection & Kane back from injury before Moura ?
Players being substituted should be supporting the team not throwing tantrums .
Major squad clear out required starting with Lloris
