Following Tottenham’s 2-0 victory at home to London rivals West Ham United on Tuesday evening, many Spurs supporters have been waxing lyrical over versatile midfielder Eric Dier for his continued role at centre-back – praising his ‘excellent‘ performance.
Dier, starting his second game at centre-back since the Premier League’s season’s resumption, impressed again alongside Davinson Sanchez in the heart of defence – earning the highest SofaScore rating out of any Spurs player.
The Englishman made three clearances and two interceptions over the 90 minutes, winning 9/13 aerial duels and not being dribbled past once.
Who played better?
Eric Dier
Giovani Lo Celso
Serge Aurier
Harry Kane
A clear indication of his performance, Dier had a solid outing and looked arguably comfortable alongside Sanchez in the heart of defence – leading to many Spurs supporters applauding his outing.
The £60,000-per-week man helped us to our first victory since lockdown, with goals from Tomas Soucek (own goal) and Harry Kane rounding off a comfortable evening for Jose Mourinho’s men.
This is how Spurs fans worshipped Dier down below.

Excellent. He is our best centre back at the moment. Composed, and got a great long diagonal on him. Him and Sanchez have a great partnership developing.
