Match Thread – Will The Bees Sting Spurs After The Seagulls **** On Us

|

With four good wins on the spin for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur side, our chase for a Champions League top four spot improved dramatically and fans were quite optimistic when it came to our 2021/22 Premier League finish.

That was until we utterly regressed in the Brighton and Hove Albion defeat last Saturday, and with Graham Potter’s side better dominating the game, it has again raised long standing concerns.

Although Spurs still occupy fourth place, Brighton was a huge opportunity to really establish our credentials and develop a small buffer zone ahead of those teams below us, and after what we saw in the last game, this weekend’s clash against Brentford is going to be anything but a walk in Griffin Park.

Brentford have surprised plenty this year and they are safe from relegation, sat comfortably in 11th place, so we simply have to be better than we were against the Seagulls.

We can expect Matt Doherty to sit this one out again, and other than Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp, there are no fresh concerns at this stage – so it’ll be interesting to see what Conte does for this one.

6 attempts to 0 already, how are we given them so many attempts on goal and we have none, come on conte sort it out

Such a static first half, where the hell is our energy and desire…damn it man, you would think they have no idea that Arsenal won today. Need a massive improvement in the 2nd.

    No shots on goal, shocking

  • Andre says:

Aimless, pointless, gutless performance. Not even close to getting a shot on target, once again.

Appalling performance. I think we may have seen the last of Sessingnon this season if Reguilon is fit. And anyone would be better than Royal. In truth though they all were dire. The new boys have run out of steam and our top two are not pressing high enough. Lucky point.

Phew. We were so lucky to escape with a point. Outplayed yet again with no shots on target. That’s nearly 190 minutes.
Another couple of ridiculous substitutions. We need to win so Conte brings on a defender that hasn’t played for months. ( Mind you, Sessegnon was poor and no where near the player he was for Fulham) Then he gives 5 minutes to Lucas at the end of the game. Quite ludicrous.
I also noticed our sad coach disappears down the tunnel whereas their coach shakes hands with players of both sides and the officials.
Nice touch to see our players greeting Eriksen.
Eriksen then went over to our fans and signed a shirt for a disabled fan. Great touch. Also Eriksen was far better than any of our players.
Harvey White still did not get a game. He was a teenager a while ago and is now nearly 33 years old waiting for a game. He cannot be worse than Sessgnon.
This was yet another poor performance from the team and the coach. We were very , very lucky.

Well clear to see the players and manager are bad as eachother, conte boring and predictable, no shots on goal in 2 games against 2 basic teams.
