Match Thread – Spurs Need Some FA Cup Relief Against Norwich

|

With three defeats on the spin across all competitions, Tottenham Hotspur are back in action this Wednesday evening as we welcome Norwich City to White Hart Lane for our FA Cup fifth round clash.

Manager Joe Mourinho’s choices will again be limited owing to the injury issues we have at the club, but scoring continues to be the least of our concerns – defensively we simply have to tighten up and improve and many fans continue to question the gaffer’s team selections even if he does have half a hand tied behind his back.

Norwich...

Win

Draw

Lose

Not least the fact that against Wolves he went with neither Toby Alderweireld or Jan Vertonghen.

Norwich have proven themselves to be plucky this year, despite the 20th position they occupy in the top flight, so we will have to be on our toes at the back, but despite the element of round pegs in square holes in our attack, our hope would be to blow them out of sight given how they leak goals themselves.

Whether that proves to be the case or not, we simply have to wait and see, but with ongoing frustration in the fanbase, we simply cannot countenance a fourth possible defeat here.

Tottenham Hotspur's foundations lie in another sport, which one?

Well, this is going to be an uncomfortable 10 minutes.

Totally out played at home by Norwich. We are shocking in the final 3rd yet again.

Very strong end though, that’s been good to see, just no end product. I know it’s guesswork, but as an unknown product I’d have liked to have seen Parrott.

Two one on ones with the keeper and blew them….did moura not see dele all alone in the box, shot into the keeper.stevie now carrying an injury…fed up.parrot can’t do any worse.

So many wasted opportunities to put this to bed. Oh joy penalties.

This is a team fightening relegation. How many times is Jose been humiliated this season, simply not good enough

  • Spurfect One says:

Gelson played very well when he came on for Moura, who once again flattered to deceive!

Absolute rubbish again. Total shambles.Jose hasn’t a clue. He has to go surely. Norwich are a young vibrant team. They thoroughly deserved the win. Penalties were a disgrace. How can you miss 3???? That’s our season over. Jose was supposed to win us trophies. Big joke. Get rid before we drop further down the league.

Absolute disgrace that Krul was allowed to get away with the gamesmanship on the penalties.

That said, our game plan was dreadful, it was hard to tell who the home team was. I don’t think it’s likely but you couldn’t blame HK10 if he did want a new challenge, it must be painful for him watching this shite.

  • Allan says:

Not sure if I can watch more of this ineptitude.
I have attempted to be positive and be charitable in all my posts against a huge wave of negative posts from fans but when you are the home side and have squandered possession , have a slow build up and just allow a relegation side to dictate play I am speachless and totally frustrated .
I feel really sorry for the fans who have turned up paying large sums of money to watch that performance .
I am not critical of the penalty takers just find the approach especially at home rather pathetic .

Allan….am going to say this “you took the words right out of my mouth in the whole of your post” well said and summed up mate. But still COYS
