Match Thread – Could Spurs Take A Small EL Advantage In Our Second Game Of Ludo

|

Following on from Tottenham Hotspur’s sterling victory over Manchester City in our last game, fans will be hoping for the same kind of attacking nouse and defensive strength when we face Ludogorets Razgrad this Thursday in our next Europa League Group J clash.

I’ve been tardy this week but PhysioRoom list five doubts. Erik Lamela isn’t expected back until the weekend following his knock, and both Matt Doherty and Toby Alderweireld are listed as having no return dates just yet. However, both Japhet Tanganga and Harry Winks are potentially expected back for Thursday – but I’d imagine both would be touch and go.

With Razgrad yet to pick up a point in Group J, there’s every confidence we can take our third victory and ideally Antwerp and LASK would share a point to give us a small advantage as we go into the final games.

As ever though, it’s not about relying on others, we know we can get the job done ourselves – we just have to avoid another slip up.

Morning all, a great team win last night, ok v mmmm crap, but you have play what’s in front of you.

N’Dombele ruled, getting better/fitter every game.

Alli, as ND said some of his nastiness is coming back, his work off the ball was excellent, good on yer young man.

I think Hoj was brought on for his leadership qualities, to keep pushing his mates on, which he did very well.

How proud must the nippers have felt when they came on, little by little lessons, well done JM.

Now on to Fat Franks Chavs, lets upset the racist twats in their own back yard, its going to be a tough game but we are Tottenham from the new Lane with a much harder inner belief. COYS

PY….Jose should get you to do a virtual team talk prior to the game. lol

  • Geof Hendrick says:

TQ …. That’s a good idea …. but I’d leave out the ‘racial twats’ part. It sounds racist.

  • Niall D says:

    Morning folks
Looking forward to the game against Chelsea.
Was listening to Talk Sport yesterday, whilst I didn’t hear the actual discussion, they were talking about Tottenham’s chances of winning the Premiership.
I know it’s all a bit previous, but come on, to even be having a conversation like that.
We’d have taken that last season.
I’m not saying we’re going to win, but we’re in a pretty good place.

  • TQ2Spurs says:

Geof….I know it’s inflammatory but it is just an accusation which, in terms of a section of their fans, has been proven a number of times. The accusation in itself isn’t racist surely otherwise we would never be able to call it out when it occurs. I think the term ‘twats’ is probably more offensive to them! 🙂

    • PompeyYid says:

TQ…thanks for that, I must admit and am sorry for being defamatory to “twats” so sorry to all you twats out there I never meant to offend.

I think I heard once that a twat is a pregnant Goldfish lol! COYS

    Hi PY.

Why don’t you tell us the Paddy and Murphy (thick Irishmen) joke? The one you recently put up on the forum…

The last time I heard or read such a joke was around 1980. But things were different then. It was still perfectly okay to be an ignorant twat, if not a racist one! Boom Boom!

    • PompeyYid says:

HT….that joke is probably from the the 70’s/80’s, yes it might not fit with the brainwashed times we live in, but if you cannot laugh at yourself, as my Irish kin do, you cannot laugh at all, you can call me a twat if you like but I am most certainly not ignorant, just sad at all the bowing done and woke times we live in. Time for the next match thread. The season is starting to get exciting.

  • Geofspurs says:

It will be a really nice weekend if …. Spurs beat Chelsea, Brighton maintains its average of one point per game, Fulham takes something from Leicester, United leave some points in Southampton, Burnley sack the City, and a rabid Wolves team destroys Arsenal (which is not as important as the other results but, nevertheless, a fun outcome).

Too much to hope for? Who knows …. it is the PL after all.

  • TQ2Spurs says:

Geof….Soton have been playing some great football, wouldn’t be surprised to see them turn over United if they get a few of the refs decisions! I’m afraid Fulham have been awful, don’t give them the remotest chance of getting anything from Leicester. Wolves could definitely give the gooners a mauling. Burnley got their first win in last weekends games but the best they can hope for is to stifle City for a 0-0 draw.

  • Niall D says:

I believe VAR has looked at the “hand of God” incident and reviewed it.
They’re awarding Man U a pen at the weekend because of it.

  • Geofspurs says:

    ND …. That’s funny, mate. : – )

  • Stan Rosenthal says:

The sloppy passing in that bad period of the second half was unbelievable as was the number of free kicks we gave away. I hope José has played that sequence back to the lads several times and has emphasised that this kind of drop in our concentration is unacceptable if we are to be in contention for any honours this season.
