Martin Keown names which Tottenham man has ‘outstanding qualities’ and ‘is a wonderful talent’

Martin Keown was full of praise for Heung-min Son, calling the Tottenham forward a “wonderful talent” and saying he has “outstanding qualities”. The South Korean international has been in fine form of late, scoring and creating three goals in as many league games – one of which included an incredible solo run against Chelsea.

Keown said on Match of the Day (h/t HITC): “He has a list of outstanding qualities and doesn’t get enough credit. I like his vision, I like his pace. He has only played seven of the 15 games but has got two goals in his last three and he has just started to come into prominence. He really is a wonderful talent. He has got everything that you need as a top footballer.”

Son has contributed seven goals in 17 games in all competitions this season. He represented South Korea at the Asian Games in August and early-September, causing him to miss three league games for Spurs, and helped his national team to victory at the tournament. After returning to the Tottenham side, he slowly hit some form, having made up for lost time.

In took the 26-year-old until October to register a goal or assist and now he can’t stop having a hand in Tottenham’s goals of late. Son scored in November’s 3-1 win over Chelsea, racked up an assist in Spurs’ 4-2 defeat to Arsenal and netted in their 3-1 win against Southampton.

His form sees him as one of the first names on the teamsheet currently and has coincided with Tottenham’s excellent run of results. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are currently third in the Premier League with 33 points from 15 games, coming off the back of four wins from five.
