Spurs Word On The Tweet

It’s Toby’s Turn Today, The Jugs Are Half Empty For Some Fans – “Doesn’t Want To Play For Spurs Anymore”

With Tottenham Hotspur absolutely dominating the telling statistics in the Champions League Group B tie against PSV Eindhoven yesterday evening, yet not entirely being comfortable in the game especially at the point we were reduced to ten men with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris seeing a straight red, the 2-2 draw largely ends hopes of a run in the competition for 2018/19.

Whilst Lloris takes plenty of criticism for his sweeping rush of blood late on in the game, and others take their fair share for failing to capitalise further on our dominance in the match in terms of extending the score and making things far more comfortable that they were, centre-half Toby Alderweireld became a target for frustration given his own performance on the night.

The 29-year-old Belgian was caught napping for their opener in the game, and he had a part to play in the equaliser, so he was poor by his own standards and deserves some criticism (neither goal was solely his fault I must be added).

However, criticism as per some the above, questioning his commitment to the club given the credit that has gone his way this season for his performances?

Not for me.

He was poor but nobody is perfect. If every player is slammed to that degree on a bad day and the club actually act on it, we’ll be lucky to have members of the Under 9s on show in the future and they wouldn’t last long either.
