Belgian outlet DH have reported that Toby Alderweireld is ready to open new contract talks with Tottenham following Mourinho’s appointment as manager of Spurs after much speculation that the 30-year-old defender will join the likes of Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen in leaving the club after their contracts expire next summer.

Let's See What Happens In January
Although it is yet to be known if Alderweireld will put pen-to-paper for Spurs and commit his future to the club, Tottenham supporters on social media were eager for the former Atletico Madrid defender to renew with the north London side after nearly five years with the Premier League team.
Here’s what some Tottenham fans had to say about Alderweireld renewing with the club, with a few supporters open to the Belgian international staying on with Spurs…
I welcome this, he’s not quite the player he was before the injury against Real Madrid but I don’t think Davinson Sanchez is quite the talent THFC hoped for.
Haven’t seen enough of Foyth yet to say either way.
Anyone know when Jan will be back?— Buster Gibbons (@BGGuitartuition) November 26, 2019
Good, his relationship may not have been amazing with Poch towards the end, but he was at least professional and kept playing.

Alderweireld seemed to be the player that Spurs fans wanted to see remain at the club the most out of the current set of renegades…
