Transfer News: Tottenham could be set to wash their hands of ace as January departure looms

|

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur squad is full of talent, yet not everyone in the side wants to be there. There has been plenty made of the fact that Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld want to leave and the new gaffer has his work cut out.

However, it doesn’t look like Mourinho is going to able to convince all three of his stars to sign new deals, and the man who certainly won’t be signing up anytime soon is Eriksen, the Danish midfield man who seems to have his heart set on a move abroad to win silverware.

A recent report from Sky Sports Transfer Centre (26/11; 08:59) has claimed that Juventus are planning on rivalling Real Madrid for the signature of Eriksen in January when the transfer window opens, seeing as the player will be free to talk to a new club ahead of a free transfer.

It’s common knowledge that Eriksen is stalling on signing a new deal and if he is to agree to terms with either Real Madrid or Juventus in January then he’d join up with his new club in summer 2o2o, meaning Tottenham wouldn’t get a transfer fee for the creative midfield man.

It’s also been touched on by Football-Italia. The Italian outlet have claimed that the lack of a transfer fee has given the Bianconeri an extra boost in pursuing Eriksen, stating:

‘They already snapped up players such as Paul Pogba, Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey as free agents and hope to do the same with Eriksen.’

Will Eriksen Now Sign A New Deal?

Yes

No

This won’t come as great news to Spurs fans, but it doesn’t look like there’s much they can about it other than let Mourinho do his thing and try and bring in a replacement for the Dane should he opt to walkout at the end of the season on a free.
