ESPN report that the Danish playmaker has his heart set on a move to either Real Madrid, Barcelona or Juventus, however, neither of these three sides have shown any interest in signing Eriksen this summer, and there is bemusement at Tottenham as to why the midfielder is locked into this mindset.
Of course, plenty of fans were not happy with this turn of events with Eriksen and took to social media to vent their frustration at their star midfielder.
Here is what some Spurs fans had to say on Twitter…
He wants to leave for free and get big wages like Ramsey, he’s showing his true colours

He will be another coutiniho, thinks grass is greener and is now a loan player.

@ChrisEriksen8 has totally lost all of his marbles, gone about his mission to move the wrong way, instead of playing to his full potential and prove he is world class, how is now just a shadow of what he was, future bench warmer at best, on a free, nobody ants him now,

Thinks he’s big time, let him go
— George (@GeorgeTaphouse) August 19, 2019
He’s paying the price for his poor season due to his head already somewhere else… must sell him asap, he won’t sign a new deal and will still underperform for us
— Pousssi (@Psi_Thomas) August 19, 2019
He is putting himself way over the club at this point. Put a bargain price tag on him and ship him out before his toxic attitude spreads to the rest of the dressing room.

This is the typical modern day footballer, got no love for the club.

Because he is nowhere near good enough. Hope we get rid of him, it’s like playing with 10 men when he’s on the pitch against the better teams.

Eriksen started Tottenham’s last Premier League game against Manchester City.
