“He’s everything” – Some Spurs fans beg club to sign engine who’s “more match fit than Ndombele”

|

Every club always has that one player that fans would want back at any given moment, and for Tottenham supporters, one of these names will forever be Mousa Dembele.

The 32-year-old Belgian midfielder was one of Spurs’ best players throughout the 2010s after joining from Fulham in 2012, with the midfield engine playing a crucial part in Tottenham’s most iconic period in the Premier League as the north London club finished regularly in the top-four as well as coming close to a league title.

Was Mourinho right to criticise Ndombele?

Yes

No

And this week, Dembele announced his international retirement from Belgium in an interview with HLN after making 82 appearances in total for the Red Devils, and some Tottenham fans on social media have been using the opportunity to beg Tottenham to re-sign the midfielder, who is currently playing for Guangzhou R&F in the Chinese Super League.

Here’s what a few Tottenham supporters had to say on social media about Dembele…

With Tottenham failing to replace Dembele since his departure from the club in 2019, it is easy to understand why supporters are keen on the 32-year-old to return to north London.

Sorry but I don’t concur here, Dembele was showing signs that he was no longer keeping apace with the demands of premiership football which is essentially why he went to China, that and a big pay day! Tottenham need to build a better equipped squad than they have in recent years… and that I’m afraid comes dowb to Dan levy’s dreadful inhibiting spending policies!
