The summer transfer window could see a number of long-serving Tottenham players leave the club for good, yet it appears that one of those names won’t be Eric Dier.
#thfc Eric Dier remains in contract talks with his existing deal set to expire on 30/06/21. Dier, capped 40 times by England, has been used in defence by Mourinho this season & wants to be sure that continues before committing himself to a new deal in N17. (@gharrypratt) pic.twitter.com/tQ4F3mCzG9

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder is reportedly in talks with the club to renew his contract with Spurs according to The Daily Star, with Dier’s current deal at Tottenham set to expire next year, yet the 40-capped England international is keen to remain in north London.
Is Dier good enough?
Yes
No
And some Tottenham fans on social media weren’t too pleased with the news, with a few supporters eager for the club to move Dier on after falling far away from the form that saw the midfielder become one of the Premier League’s top anchormen and a £50m target for Manchester United as reported by The Guardian.
Here’s what a handful of Tottenham supporters had to say on Twitter…
Sell him we have Sanchez and Toby still has 2-3 years left while bring in the likes of Godfrey and Kabak and many other young defenders. He won’t be missed

Sell him, overrated by a country mile, love to know what he’s on a week, whatever it is, he should have up each morning, look at his wife and think, aren’t I lucky, how do Spurs give me a contract and do much each week, she wouldn’t be with me only for that

Nooo 😐

As per The Daily Star report, Dier is keen on switching into a centre-back and will use this as leverage when negotiating a new deal.
