He Had To Be Patient But Few Can Say This Spurs Man Didn’t Take His Chance

|

Not only did Tottenham Hotspur get back to winning ways as we went on our travels to Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend, goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga finally got his shot between the sticks in the season of 2018/19.

With Michel Vorm’s form well discussed, as well as his strengths and weaknesses, given his age plenty of Spurs fans wanted to see manager Mauricio Pochettino give our 26-year-old Argentine the opportunity to earn his proverbial spurs in the absence of Number 1 Hugo Lloris as we look to the future.

Having followed Poch from Southampton, Saturday was only Gazzaniga’s second appearance for the club and the reticence to use him, given Poch has actually signed him on two occasions, has confused many.

With the opportunity presented though as Vorm apparently picked up a knock, he arguably took it with both hands and in the two games he’s now played for us, we’ve taken six points. Goalkeepers can’t do much more.

It probably comes as no surprise but the comments post-game were equally as praiseworthy despite the goal he conceded, but I might save that for another day when things are quiet.

Adequately sums it up for now!
