Spurs Should Take The Positives As This Man Takes MotM From Brighton

|

With three defeats on the spin for Tottenham Hotspur including the midweek late defeat to Inter Milan in the Champions League, returning to Premier League action this weekend with a trip to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion, the game became very much a must win and the draw the line exercise.

Arguably we haven’t got what we deserved in recent matches, and arguably our performances have been poorer than you would naturally accept, but Spurs did at least show some signs of improvement and a slightly more lively showing as we took a 2-1 win on the south coast, but you wouldn’t describe it as a classic.

With the weather conditions, it was very much about game management really and we controlled the ball nicely possession wise to make life easier, and we did dominate chances in the game – but the hosts had their moments.

It’s no surprise to see WhoScored gave Harry Kane their highest rating at 8.14 as he was more back to his best, even if not completely there.

With them giving Danny Rose 7.49 it backs up those calls for him to be given the Man of the Match from other quarters, but given the criticism often took by Erik Lamela, it’s good to see him poll in third.

There are still things for manager Mauricio Pochettino to address, as conceding late on again isn’t great, but it should lift spirits and it ends that run of defeats, so we move on from here.
