Have Your Say: Spurs “Just Don’t Want It Enough” – So Where Do We Go From Here

|

What can one say after yet another disastrous result?

The malaise continues, no sign of the lessons being learned, no sign of any battling mentality. What has turned decent, if not great players, into donkeys?

If you get beat 3-0 by Brighton then you are unlikely to beat any PL club. We have been beaten by Colchester, been humiliated by Bayern Munich and now lost heavily to Brighton. Where do we go from here, we have problems all over the pitch, we are unable to defend, can’t control or even compete in midfield, and we struggle to score.

Yes, Lloris’s injury was disruptive, but I think MP is clutching at straws if he uses that as an excuse for this disgraceful result. With due respect to Brighton they are a ‘Mickey Mouse’ club in terms of budget and every other measure compared to us, and everybody involved for Spurs should hang their heads.

It appears we simply just don’t want it enough. Whether the fault lies with the coach or collectively with the players, between them they are dragging this club into the mire. If we shrug our shoulders and do nothing, we will continue to regress, and it is dangerous to think any club is too good to go down – Ramos’s team were in danger until Harry Redknapp’s rescue act.

It appears that Pochettino’s ability to motivate and mould this team, and his tactical philosophy, may have run its course after some 5 years. Most coaches with the exception of Ferguson and Wenger seem to have a sell-by date at the top level, perhaps MP has reached his?

There are also several players who are past it and need replacing, together with those who don’t want to be here, there is a need for a considerable investment, time for our chairman to come through.

Will the investment be forthcoming, I’m afraid there have to be doubts, but to fail to do so could result in Levy’s vanity project to start to empty. Something drastic needs to happen, starting in January and continuing for several further windows.
